The Winter Show, an annual exhibition of antiques and fine and decorative arts, and which benefits the East Side Settlement House, opened in the Seventh Regiment Armory on Park Avenue; the show runs through 28 January. A folding cover for a chamber pot made for the Dauphin, son of Louis XIV, ca. 1685-1695, in the form of a book bound in red morocco, titled HISTOIRE NATURELLE DES PAYS BAS, a play on words to the detriment of the Netherlands.
